Almost
everyone uses the internet, do you know that there is a very big section of
internet which only some of you must be knowing or using it.
Most of us are familiar with the surface web. So basically, a surface web is the internet which is used very commonly by everyone in the world, and even in the future, it is going to be used. Most of you must be using browsers like chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Yahoo, Bing, etc. all are examples of the surface web. The surface web is the internet that is accessible anywhere in the world without any special permissions. Information on the surface web is easily available on your browser like google. So, all the links, websites, or images available on google come under the surface web as it is publicly available. But the surface web is actually contributing only 5% of the total internet. According to recent studies, nearly 95% of the internet is on the deep web.
Deep Web
All the online stores like google drive, dropbox, big universities documents, research
data, big companies, and banks information, databases, gov secret projects, and
files are basically data which you would not simply get on google search or
surface web. If you want to access the deep web you will need a special URL, special
address for website or server and you need some special permissions to access
that information, it might be login with a password or any type of authentication,
but without that address, you will never be able to access the deep web. All the
websites or webpages data, information are not indexed by google, yahoo, or Bing
search engines in that case you will never be able to see what is stored in one’s
normal google drive or cloud storage even if you keep searching for it forever,
it is accessible only when you have permissions to access that particular file
or folder. We use the deep web to store all our data on the cloud but don’t want to
share it with everyone except the eligible ones. The deep web is anyways not a hidden
internet all together but there is another layer of the internet that is hidden
from everyone known as the dark web.
Dark Web
The dark web is
the internet where you can do anything for e.g. drugs trading or drugs
smuggling, amours trading or amours smuggling, and all other illegal activities. The dark web is the black market of the internet where you can do anything and
everything and also this is never shown in any search results. If you want to
use it you will need an onion browser also known as a tor browser. The dark web can
be accessed using a tor browser through a VPN but this is completely illegal. All
the black market can be accessed using tor browser which will be bouncing your
address all over the world only those users can trace you. Currently, no backtrace is available for the tor browser it was invented for the US navy but now the tor
network is all over the world and connects the entire black market. Many
agencies are working to take down the websites on the dark web as well. Even after
all these corrective and preventive techniques dark web still exists on the
current internet and there are a lot of illegal activities happening which is
accessible only on tor browser.
